Marsh Broker James Vetter Recognized as a 2021 Environmental Power Broker
James Vetter, Managing Director, Marsh
Broker James Vetter’s accolades run deep, as he consistently works to the benefit of his clients.
“Jim was our broker on a transaction where we needed to solve some thorny environmental issues related to PFAS, a hot button topic for environmental insurers these days,” said one attorney.
“Jim was able to secure a large policy for PFAS coverage where the seller’s broker could not and where other brokers we were using on buy-side deals at the time for other clients were unable to. His ability to bind the coverage was integral in getting over these issues.”
Another attorney added, “Jim has an unerring sense of the market. This year he helped us quickly place a policy in a major, fast-paced transaction that would not have gone forward absent his remarkable work.
“Jim helped us work with the environmental consulting firm that conducted diligence on multiple industrial facilities to understand the environmental risks and present them to key underwriters. That resulted in pollution legal liability coverage for known and unknown environmental issues with only one exclusion.”
For a third client, Vetter was able to “procure comprehensive environmental insurance coverage in connection with the acquisition and redevelopment of a brownfield property. His ability to explain and help negotiate the terms of the insurance policy” was instrumental, said the client.
