Gallagher Broker Chris Cyterski Recognized as a 2020 Nonprofit Power Broker
Chris Cyterski, Area Executive Vice President, Gallagher
Chris Cyterski does not treat his clients as such; he treats them as partners. By nurturing long-term relationships and utilizing his vast knowledge of workers’ compensation, he helps keep his nonprofit clients competitive.
For River Valley Behavioral Health, he went the extra miles, literally. “From when he first started with our workers’ compensation program, he has been able to reduce our costs by 70%,” said Cate Gaddis, vice president of human resources and credentialing.
“He genuinely cares about us, and his initiative has been a driving force in the success of our program. He willingly drives three hours for a one-hour meeting.”
According to Ray Giacomin, chief financial officer, In-Pact, it was Cyterski’s initiative that got the organization — which provides community services for those with special needs — out of an impending workers’ compensation crisis.
“Our workers’ compensation insurer went bankrupt, and we were placed in a pool. He got us out of that in six months and saved us a lot of money,” said Giacomin.
Not only is Cyterski business savvy, but his compassion for his clients’ causes sets him apart from the rest of the industry. Teresa Roberts, chief administrative officer, Volunteers of America Mid-
States recalls his contribution to her organization’s holiday toy drive.
“One of the first things Gallagher did when they got our partnership was show up with toys and other things they had collected for the drive,” said Roberts.
