Thomas Lillelund to Join Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE as CEO

Thomas Lillelund is set to join Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS) as CEO in early 2025, subject to regulatory approval. He will also take the helm of Allianz Commercial, the group’s global model for serving the Commercial Property & Casualty insurance segment.

Chris Townsend, a representative from Allianz, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment: “I’m delighted to welcome Thomas to Allianz. He is known for driving profitable growth, for building cultures focused on clients and underwriting integrity, and for developing high-performing teams.”

Lillelund brings over 25 years of international experience in the insurance industry to his new role. He has served as CEO of AIG Europe, Middle East and Africa, and has worked in various locations worldwide, including Europe, the UK, Singapore, South Africa, Hong Kong, and the United States for Aspen Re, Gen Re, and Swiss Re. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from The College of William & Mary and an MBA from Western University.

In his new role, Lillelund will be responsible for driving growth and fostering a client-focused culture at Allianz Commercial, serving large corporate, mid corporate, and specialty customers worldwide. &
