Musculoskeletal Injuries Drive Medicare Set Asides

Work-related musculoskeletal disorders account for one third of U.S. occupational injuries resulting in lost time from work, according to data published in 2013 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The graph above, produced by NCCI Holdings Inc. and based on data compiled Gould and Lamb L.L.C. and NCCI, shows that musculoskeletal impairments account for more than half of Medicare set asides reviewed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
