For 27 years, Heather Gillingham has focused on insuring the firearms and shooting sports industry.

Having served this specialty for so many years, Gillingham has formed strong relationships with carriers, underwriters, consultants, attorneys, associations and lenders.

Brent Wouters, CEO of Bangers LP (dba Iron Valley Supply), switched to Gillingham as his company’s new broker in 2021.

“Heather quickly developed a creative solution for our P&C liability and umbrella policies that gave Iron Valley more modern coverage terms applicable to our industry segment, flexible coverage adjustments required to accommodate very rapid growth in the business, and broader coverage to protect our enterprise from evolving business risks,” Wouters said.

One of the first things Gillingham explains to her clients is that her approach is a partnership. Gillingham aligns her clients with other specialty companies dedicated to the industry. These include attorneys, lenders, realtors and consultants; manufacturers to supply critical systems; distributors to fill inventory; associations to promote and advocate their business; and resources to assist in streamlining the company’s needs outside of insurance.

“She has demonstrated deep industry knowledge related to desirable coverages and industry-specific coverages required to ensure that our business is protected,” Wouters said.
