Marsh Broker Rafaela Bustamante Recognized as a 2022 Marine Power Broker
Rafaela Bustamante, ARM, Vice President, Marsh
All top brokers know the markets and understand their clients; Rafaela Bustamante leans into knowing her clients in great detail, which enables her to negotiate more effectively on their behalf by presenting their strengths to the market.
“With one month left until our renewal date, we decided to switch brokers to MMA,” said a strategy manager at a global logistics firm.
“Rafaela and her colleagues helped us restructure and repackage our insurance program in [an] accelerated timeframe. All that work ultimately saved us hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
More specifically, that client had concerns regarding its existing coverages, especially those related to its evolving risk exposures. Over the course of several months, Bustamante and her team spent time analyzing the client’s whole business, including reviewing contracts with customers.
Based on that groundwork, Bustamante and her team were able to recommend internal changes, advise on growth planning, and make suggestions for “insurance-oriented revenue streams.” The entire program was revamped as a scalable process that can be adapted as exposures change and its customer base becomes more varied.
Clients acknowledged her ability to understand their business and the industry in which they operate. They also noted her resourcefulness in working with colleagues and third parties.
