Gallagher Broker Michele Centeno Recognized as a 2020 Transportation Power Broker

Some brokers simply haven’t worked through a hard market or don’t have the skill set to navigate when capacity is removed and premiums go up.
But luckily for CC Industries, Inc, which operates within Henry Crown and Company, Michele Centeno’s experience is just one of the reasons they made it through a difficult renewal with a competitive premium.
“When I look back, Michele has been doing this for a long time and has been in this kind of environment,” said Michael Lubben, director of global risk management, Henry Crown and Company/CCI.
“She has worked through hard markets before.”
Headquartered in Chicago, CCI has a hand in transportation operations from farm equipment to food processors to pizza makers to furniture.
Extremely diversified business and a tough market in 2019 forced the company to investigate non-traditional insurance coverage.
Thankfully, they had Centeno to help them with the heavy lifting.
“She looked at some non-traditional insurers that we wouldn’t have looked at in the past. She examined a broad market and focused on half a dozen.”
Centeno searched high and low from the U.S. to London to Bermuda markets to find capacity at a reasonable price.
“It turned out to be a great renewal,” said Lubben. “She has great technical skills, but what sets her apart is that she wants to do right by the customer. You don’t get that in every broker.”
