Aon Broker Kathryn Christensen Recognized as a 2020 Captives Power Broker
Kathryn Christensen, Senior Consultant, Aon
Perhaps Kathryn Christensen’s clients are like many others — they move quickly and need quick answers to their risk management questions. And this senior consultant in risk finance and captive consulting delivers, time and time again.
One client recently asked Christensen to assist on a captive feasibility study and implementation process. During the course of the study, the client threw Christensen some curve balls.
The client was experiencing changes in its business development, including new product offerings and growth in new markets. Christensen, keeping pace, worked the client through several revisions to the lines of business to be included in the captive, captive program structures and the target domicile, to address the client’s needs.
Another client wanted to move forward with forming a captive, even though some of its financial ducks were not in a row. The company lacked fronting arrangements or refined analytics around changing customer exposures.
Undeterred, Christensen set about progressing with the captive formation while at the same time addressing some of the client’s ongoing uncertainties.
A client that described itself as being in “hyper-growth” wanted to take on its own risk. The director of insurance for the company is, himself, an insurance broker and knows of what he speaks.
“She is incredibly responsive,” this client said of Christensen’s work.
