After an insurance company took more than six months to acknowledge a rather large pollution claim, broker Ian Pilling stepped in and helped his client get the issue resolved. Within a few months, the claim was closed.

When the policy with that insurance company was up, Pilling helped his client find a new carrier for its environmental coverage. He found two competitive quotes for the renewal that enhanced coverage in some areas.

“Normally you wouldn’t expect such an easy renewal after having a claim filed,” his client said.

“Once you actually use the insurance, you have to kind of fight in renewals to get coverage. That didn’t happen at all. He made it a really smooth and easy process,” the client continued.

After another client’s business was acquired by a company in a foreign country, Pilling helped make sure they had the coverage it needed through the transition.

Pilling’s clients also praised his efforts to understand their businesses and programs.

“You have to talk to your client to see what part of the business you don’t understand, what part of the program you don’t understand, and Ian does that,” a client said. “He came over to our office and spent time with us when we needed him.”
