Aon Broker Cynthia Fee Recognized as a 2021 Utilities Power Broker
Cynthia Fee, Senior Vice President, Aon
Cynthia Fee got the job done for a client whose large coal-fired generating station is being taken out of service.
“Cindy addressed the environmental, safety and governance concerns with all carriers,” said the risk manager. “She successfully showed them our commitment to be carbon-free within a few years.”
This round of coal retirements is different because in most cases the units are not being mothballed but decommissioned and often demolished.
That changes the required insurance and risk management significantly, especially in terms of site remediation.
On top of this, Fee helped the client with its casualty renewals amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We were in the middle of our renewals in early March when the pandemic hit. We faced renewal challenges with various liability carriers that reduced capacity, and we also faced potential wildfire exclusions. Cindy provided excellent guidance on how to conduct a virtual presentation to several excess liability markets in Bermuda about how we and how we manage wildfire risk … As a result, we retain our excess liability limits and with no wildfire exclusions.”
“Cindy handles all of our liability placements,” said another client, an insurance and risk manager.
“She did a great job this year, in particular, we were looking at options for our primary liability program. Not only did she guide us through the process extremely well, we were able to add time-element pollution coverage, remove a major exclusion and reduce our total cost of risk.”
