Aon Broker Christopher Spiridis Recognized as a 2022 Construction Power Broker
Christopher Spiridis, National Project Solutions Broker, Aon
Construction can be one of the hardest risks to underwrite because of the complexity involved, often with multiple projects underway for a client at the same time.
That was certainly the case for Christopher Spiridis, whose client Geisinger Health, a health care provider, had a pipeline of new and challenging projects. These included existing campuses and renovations to facilities as well as ground-up builds.
But he designed a near $1 billion value holistic owner controlled insurance program that provided best-in-class terms and conditions for all the projects, delivering coverage consistency across the pipeline and cost certainty for the next five years.
“Christopher far exceeded expectations with our placement. He is highly detail-oriented and helped navigate us through the process and tell our story to the underwriters,” said Tammy Leiby, vice president, corporate insurance and risk services and chief risk officer at Geisinger Health.
Another client, pharmaceutical firm Eli Lilly, was planning a new research and development and production facility where the core and shell would be built by a third party before completing the interiors and installing several highly technical production lines itself.
Spiridis put a holistic program in place to cover property damage to the existing structures as they were transferred to the client as well as covering the fit out and production equipment as part of the overall project.
