Chubb announces three new appointments, Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty names environmental practice group leader, Transparent Health Marketplace hires Angie O'Connell.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Announces New Environmental Practice Group Leader

Steve Tagert, regional environmental practice group leader, AGCS

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) named Steve Tagert as regional environmental practice group leader in North America.

In this role, Tagert will manage the AGCS environmental impairment liability (EIL) team, as well as the portfolio in both the U.S. and Canada.

Tagert brings over 20 years of underwriting, managing and product specializing experience, all within the environmental insurance industry, to his new role with AGCS. He previously served as an executive underwriter on AGCS’ liability team.

“I’m thrilled that Steve will join our North American Liability leadership team. He is a dynamic individual with a strong track record of achievement at every stop,” said Dieter Hautzer, regional head of liability.

“Steve has been a model of success throughout his career,” added Arthur Lu, global head of EIL. ”His background is a perfect fit in the NEW AGCS transformation model where underwriting technical excellence is paramount to the company’s success.”

Angie O’Connell Named Transparent Health Marketplace’s Executive Vice President

Transparent Health Marketplace announced the hiring of Angie O’Connell as executive vice president and chief strategy and innovation officer. In her new role, O’Connell will manage “strategic leadership of the company’s overall growth.”

O’Connell brings over 30 years of experience both in the insurance and health care industries. She most recently worked in the insurer Anthem’s workers’ compensation sector.

“We are pleased that Angie has joined the executive team during this pivotal time for the company and the industry,” said Munawar Ali, executive chairman of the board.

“With her background and wealth of experience deploying solutions that meet the unique needs of all stakeholders, there is no one better equipped than Angie to lead the charge as we execute on our transformative vision.”

Chubb Announces Three New Appointments

Chubb recently announced the promotion of Laura Vest to executive vice president; Brian Ford as senior vice president, chief underwriting officer of Chubb domestic casualty; and the hiring of Patricia Armstrong as chief underwriting officer for Chubb’s multinational tower.

In her new role, Vest will lead Chubb’s new multinational tower in North America, as well as manage the oversight of strategy, development and operations for Chubb’s major accounts.

Vest brings 25 years of industry experience to her new role with Chubb. She most recently served as Chubb’s senior vice president of underwriting for major accounts.

Ford succeeds Brian Powers in his new role as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer. Ford will manage and implement the underwriting strategy for Chubb global casualty.

Ford, with now 27 years of industry experience, first joined Chubb in 2015.

In her role, Armstrong will “create, develop and implement the overall underwriting strategy” for Chubb’s multinational programs. This includes major accounts, commercial insurance and small business.

Being with Chubb for 17 years, she most recently served as senior vice president and deputy chief underwriting officer of foreign casualty. &
