Maybe the highest praise a broker can wish for is to be considered a member of a client’s risk management team. Jarvis Dunmore, a senior vice president at Marsh Risk in Chicago, gets that recognition very often from his clients.

Quite simply, Dunmore provides the solutions that clients need to manage their workers’ comp programs. For example, he helped Tiffini Thomas, the manager of workers’ compensation at Medline Industries, switch away from an unsatisfactory third-party administrator as seamlessly as it could be expected.

“When we were experiencing extreme customer service issues during the transition process, Jarvis was 100% available,” she said.

Dunmore also suggested the introduction of quarterly reviews with the new TPA, among a range of other measures to optimize the management of the program. The changes delivered quick results compared to what the company had with the previous TPA, Thomas points out.

The positive experience is shared by other clients as well.

“Jarvis is like an extension of our risk management department,” said Lara Baugh, the director of risk management at John Deere. “He reviews individual cases, makes sure that claims are being handled, and he will push adjusters to expedite things or think of some other actions to take in order to resolve the case.”
