Marsh Broker Byron Stufken Recognized as a 2025 Entertainment Power Broker
Byron Stufken, Vice President, Marsh
If putting together a film or movie is like solving a puzzle, then Byron Stufken provides a critical piece and is always on hand to assist clients on tight deadlines.
“There is a constant barrage from my side of quoting and binding new coverage on an abbreviated timeline, and he’s always able to accommodate us,” said Brian Turner, vice president of Mass Appeal Media.
Given just a week’s deadline, Stufken secured coverage for a series of large events Mass Appeal was putting on. Events, particularly ones where alcohol is served, had not been included in Mass Appeal’s insurance program at the time.
The solution was a broad, surplus lines policy that Stufken arranged and which allowed spontaneous declaration of events for general liability coverage based on a negotiated rate. The company went from having no coverage for events to constructing an ad hoc declarable events policy within a short time frame.
Turner said Stufken’s assistance goes beyond their entertainment needs.
“He’s also been incredibly helpful with advising us as a company with all of our lines of coverage,” Turner said. “He tells us what coverage we do and don’t need and helps us negotiate those and mitigate costs in a world where prices are always going up.”
