HUB International Broker David Chmiel Recognized as a 2021 Nonprofit Power Broker

For David Chmiel, assisting nonprofits with their insurance needs doesn’t begin and end with the sales process.
In fact, Chmiel has become so deeply enmeshed in the risk management concerns of one of his clients, IAG — an organization that serves people with disabilities and complex needs — that he is now part of its team.
To begin with, in order to manage IAG’s total cost of risk, he had to understand its culture, so he performed a GAP analysis over a 45-day period, meeting with leaders and stakeholders. Then he helped the organization make needed modifications before marketing the program to multiple companies, saving IAG significant sums of money in the process.
In the meantime, Chmiel took the initiative on his own to create the IAG Foundation, assisted in fundraising and now serves as its president.

In 2020, he also helped clients dealing with the COVID-19 crisis, helping to get workers back into the office while minimizing risk and avoiding potential exposure in the workplace.

For us, he created a foundation. He created a golf outing and raised enough money for us to buy a house for our clients. There’s just no one else like him.”
