Gallagher Broker Mitch Surowitz Recognized as a 2023 Real Estate Power Broker
Mitch Surowitz, Area Vice President, Gallagher
Mitch Surowitz’s clients love his solutions.
Dennis Szuberla, CFO at R&V Management Company, cited one in particular: “His idea was to bring us, as the client, into a partnership with the insurer and himself and to essentially manage our claims and manage our growth projections to arrive at a premium they could rely on and we could budget and forecast on, provided that we kept our loss ratio in line. And we came up with a pretty creative program to ensure everyone’s winning. And that was really spearheaded by Mitch. That was a really positive thing that impacted our bottom line.”
Surowitz suggested to another client that they form a captive insurance company to manage some of their risk and arm it with a defined aggregate deductible.
“It was pretty innovative at the time we did it, and it proved to help us cover a lot of risk, as well as to mitigate some of our exposure to the ever-volatile reinsurance and insurance markets, as far as our annual premiums and keeping us off our loss-run thresholds,” the client said.
“It was a very good tool … They were able to give us a better value, better premiums and just a lot better coverage.”
But the solutions aren’t all these clients love about Surowitz.
“His product knowledge is above and beyond. He sees the big picture,” said Michael Dedic, risk manager at MG Properties Group.
“In all the years that I’ve been doing this, I would say that Mitch is the best of the best.”
