Gallagher Broker Jon Pointer Recognized as a 2021 Real Estate Power Broker
Jon Pointer, Branch Manager, Gallagher
Certified Hospitality Management was staring at a potential mess during its insurance renewal at the end of 2019. Based in Canton, Mississippi, the company was up against a carrier that was rejecting a costly claim and pulling out of its market, said Sunny Sethi, president and CEO.
The initial alternative for renewal would have tripled the company’s costs, Sethi said. But then Jon Pointer got involved. The claim, involving an underground storage tank at a gas station, ultimately went unpaid, but the company saw no increase in premiums.
“He really helped us overcome almost a disaster,” Sethi said.
“He’s very easy to work with, easy to communicate with, responsive. He takes care of our business.”
Pointer, who has 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector, is also a source of trusted advice on coverage needs, said another client, the top executive at a hospitality company.
“I think he does an excellent job of bringing value to the table as a broker,” said the executive who has worked with Pointer for more than a decade.
“He is also an effective advocate in presenting any claims to the insurance companies,” the executive said. This was apparent in recent months when we had claims from three different hurricanes at multiple properties.
