Aon Broker Kali Mullen Recognized as a 2025 At Large Power Broker
Kali Mullen, Senior Vice President – Florida Property Leader, Aon
It’s no surprise the Florida market has experienced challenging years lately. The 2024 hurricane season was unprecedented in many ways, and recovery efforts will continue across coastal and inland communities.
Kali Mullen recently relocated to Florida to service local clients needing innovative solutions in the face of reduced capacity and higher rates.
Some creative solutions Mullen deployed for her clients included discussing the potential to self-insure a portion of their property program, whether that included all risk coverage or a specific peril like named windstorm coverage on a specific asset.
Additional creative solutions involved working closely with a marine colleague to place a stock throughput program to remove inventory or collaborating with the Aon Alternative Risk Team to place a structured program to remove capacity from the traditional “all-risk” marketplace for premium relief.
Mullen recently began working with the risk management team at Lowe’s and performed an in-depth analysis of their coverage as a first step.
Carla Ferriera, CPCU, director of insurance at Lowe’s Companies, Inc., commented on the results, saying, “Kali has been instrumental in assisting us in selecting the right insurers partners to participate on our program, and her knowledge of the market/industry conditions and how to align Lowe’s program with the right partners has been evident in our renewal results.”
