Aon Broker Bryan McMinn Recognized as a 2021 Health Care Power Broker
Bryan McMinn, Vice President, Aon
In spring 2020, carriers were understandably nervous about covering senior living facilities, which were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, it was unclear whether markets were even going to offer coverage or provide the limits that providers wanted, said a risk management executive at a senior living provider with facilities in the U.S. and overseas.
But Bryan McMinn dug in and came up with an effective strategy for binding coverage by the end of April, the executive said. “He got it all done in plenty of time.”
The new program entailed forging new relationships with carriers but also preserved existing relationships, which the executive described as a priority. “I want to be sure that I am working with carriers that will hang in there with us, and I let them know that we will hang in there with them.”
Relationships are a source of strength for McMinn, according to his clients.
“While most people judge brokers’ performance based on premium reductions and coverage enhancements, which is absolutely warranted for many reasons, I do think that broker performance in the realm of relationships and ability to communicate and educate effectively is also a large part of their role. Bryan excels in both,” said the insurance and claims director at a regional health system.
“I know that I can count on him to give me the tools and advice I need to make the best decisions for my company.”
