Michelle Samuel Appointed as New SVP and Chief Customer Officer at Nationwide
Nationwide has announced the appointment of Michelle Samuel as the company’s new Senior Vice President and Chief Customer Officer.
“We are thrilled to bring Michelle into our high-performing customer organization,” said Mike Mahaffey, Nationwide Executive Vice President and Chief Customer, Strategy & Innovation Officer. “Based on her extensive track record, I have no doubt that she will help Nationwide enhance our customer focus and provide extraordinary care for our customers.”
Samuel brings over two decades of experience in the financial services and insurance industry, having held key roles at Prudential Financial, The Hartford, and Unum. She has a strong background in customer experience, digital transformation, distribution strategy, operations, and sales.
Notably, Samuel launched and led Prudential’s direct-to-consumer business and developed the company’s first customer experience strategy. Her team was recognized by the U.S. Customer Experience Awards and the American Business Awards for their exceptional work.
In her new role, Samuel will lead Nationwide’s customer team, focusing on advancing customer strategy across the enterprise. This appointment follows the retirement of Amy Shore, Nationwide’s first Chief Customer Officer, who retired on Dec. 31. &
