Mary Boyd will assume the role of chief executive officer for Hiscox’s USA business unit on June 24, replacing outgoing CEO Kevin Kerridge.

Aki Hussain, Group CEO, expressed his delight at Boyd’s appointment, stating, “Mary’s knowledge and expertise in the insurance industry are exceptional. Her wealth of experience building and leading insurance businesses in the USA, and her deep understanding of the U.S. customer market, will be instrumental in scaling our U.S. business as we seize the opportunity ahead.”

Boyd brings a wealth of experience to Hiscox from her previous role as CEO of the independent agency business at Plymouth Rock Assurance. Her career spans leadership positions at The Hartford Insurance Company, ACE, Explorer Insurance, and Chubb.

Boyd expressed her enthusiasm for her new role, saying, “I am thrilled to join Hiscox and lead this talented team to its next series of successes. I am energized by the opportunity to work alongside our team to drive innovation and profitable growth in this market.”

The transition comes as Kerridge steps down after nearly 30 years with Hiscox, during which he played a crucial role in the company’s digital transformation. He will continue to serve in an advisory capacity before pursuing opportunities outside Hiscox at the end of September. &
