From a global pandemic that is still raging on over two years later to the war in Ukraine, disruption seems to be the name of the game for the next iteration of the so-called “roaring 20s.”

The events of recent years have changed every facet of our lives and property and casualty insurance markets too have been affected by these changes.

Risk & Insurance® associate editor Courtney DuChene sat down with Dr. Michel Léonard, CBE, chief economist and data scientist, and head of the economics and analytics department at the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I) at RIMS 2022 in San Francisco to discuss the 2022 economic outlook.

Léonard shared his view on how economic factors are affecting property and casualty markets and what the industry can expect in the coming year.
