C-suite leaders say the business environment has become increasingly volatile and complex since the start of 2026, with 82% reporting greater concern about their businesses’ futures.

In a survey by Wakefield Research for Sentry® Insurance, executives report growing concerns about supply chain and logistics challenges, economic pressures, tariffs and trade uncertainty, and labor shortages. Workforce pressures are also taking a toll as businesses ask employees to do more with less.

Nearly nine in 10 executives say accurate risk management has become more difficult as geopolitical events unfold quickly. In response, leaders are shortening planning cycles and building more contingencies into their plans.
