AXA XL Appoints Matt Rodliff Chief Claims Officer, Americas

AXA XL has appointed Matt Rodliff as Chief Claims Officer, Americas, effective July 13.

“Matt has deep leadership experience in complex claims and a proven record of building strong teams and elevating client service,” said Lucy Pilko, AXA XL’s CEO, Americas. “His expertise and leadership style are a great fit with AXA XL’s commitment to delivering superior claims service.”

Rodliff joins AXA XL from Liberty Mutual, where he served as vice president of specialized claims, leading multi-line specialty claims teams, implementing data-driven claims strategies, and improving operational efficiency and customer experience. In his new role, he will lead AXA XL’s claims strategy and operations across the Americas region, overseeing client and broker service delivery, driving technical excellence, and partnering with underwriting and risk teams. Based in Boston, he reports to Pilko and Global Chief Claims Officer Pam Urueta.

Rodliff succeeds Jim DiVirgilio, who retires after an 18-year tenure at AXA XL. DiVirgilio will continue in an advisory role through the end of 2026 to support the transition. &
