Meagan D’Arcangelo approaches insurance the same way she approaches clients: by listening first. That mindset has helped her untangle complex programs, align coverage with lender and tenant needs, and deliver measurable cost savings for real estate owners operating in a challenging market.

Jason Borrelli, principal at 1 EQT/Exeter, said D’Arcangelo spearheads an especially complicated property/casualty program that spans more than 15 insurance carriers across multiple funds. As deductibles climbed from $5,000 to $100,000 per event, the impact on buildings and tenants became unsustainable. Traditional deductible buy-down solutions proved too expensive. Borrelli said D’Arcangelo helped devise an alternative that balanced market realities with client needs. “Meagan was instrumental in helping us establish a captive where we are, in essence, self-funding the deductible above $10K,” he said.

Borrelli said D’Arcangelo’s preparation and attention to detail set her apart. “She is able to balance our needs against the market to come up with very sound and cost-effective insurance solutions,” he said. “In addition, she is very easy to work and communicate with.”

D’Arcangelo also designed a master insurance program for independently owned hotels, overcoming varying renewal dates and multiple agents. The program launched at $8 million in value and grew to more than $1.1 billion in nine months, underscoring how listening to understand clients’ challenges can translate into scalable savings and results.
