When a private equity firm that was acquiring an environmental contractor in the southeast started to dig into its risk and insurance coverage considerations, it quickly realized it needed more help from its insurance broker than it was currently getting.

Enter Joshua Richman, a broker who prioritizes clear communication and attention to detail — a major plus for M&A clients. The client said Richman was “instrumental” in arranging the proper certificates of insurance for the deal and provided excellent customer service with an admiral knowledge of the relevant industry, which he described as “pretty niche.”

Another client, Olympus Pines, is in the process of a buy-and-build out strategy for car washes across the U.S. The company is experiencing rapid expansion but was facing a 30% premium increase.

Richman and his team initiated discussions 150 days before renewal, engaging with over 20 insurers, highlighting the strength of their team, risk management initiatives and coordinating risk control visits.

They successfully secured a new insurance provider that reduced Olympus Pines’ property premium by more than 50%. We wish Richman and fellow 2025 Power Broker Andy Harbut well as they embark on their new venture, NewCo Risk, LLC.
