McGriff Broker Emily Manke Recognized as a 2022 Transportation Power Broker
Emily Manke, Account Executive, McGriff
“Instrumental,” “responsive” and “a critical asset in navigating new challenges,” are just some of the acclaims voiced by risk management professionals in the logistics and transportation sector who work with Emily Manke.
One of her logistics clients especially appreciated the high level of priority and exceptional service Manke recently delivered in lowering the cost of a particular risk associated with a third-party relationship.
Manke’s client, whose business model relies heavily on outsourced transportation vendor-partners, had experienced significant growth due to the impact of COVID-19 on the e-commerce sector.
Although the vendor-partners maintain a business-to-business relationship with the logistics provider, the arrangement generates a significant vicarious auto liability exposure — a cause of great concern for insurance underwriters as well as Manke’s client.
In addition to structuring the appropriate insurance coverage to protect her logistics client, Manke worked diligently with their lead auto insurer and defense counsel to proactively manage the claims process — an exercise that included the use of public financial responsibility triggers to secure insurance coverage from the outsourced vendors’ insurers in cases where they denied coverage.
Manke’s approach helped reduce the total cost of risk for the logistics provider while also making the risk more appealing to underwriters.
