Brown & Brown Broker Christopher Wise Recognized as a 2026 Fine Arts Power Broker
Christopher Wise, Vice President, Brown & Brown
Christopher Wise believes that a good fine arts insurance broker is a translator, codeswitching between the art world and the world of risk management.
“Clients value that I can ‘speak both languages.’ Whether it’s a young dealer negotiating a lease, or a high-profile advisor seeking airtight protection, I ensure they feel heard, educated, and supported,” Wise wrote in his Power Broker application.
Such was the case when he worked with seasoned art adviser Glori Cohen to negotiate a blanket policy structure and broad valuation terms with full protection for all pieces, simplifying coverage and minimizing her administrative burden.
“He has shown incredible patience and worked closely with me to secure the right numbers for my clients, for myself, and for my building,” said Cohen. “As an art advisor, consultant, and long-time nonprofit board member of RxArt, I can say Chris has been outstanding in every way — honest, thoughtful, reliable, and deeply committed.”
New gallery owner Kevin Kramer initially found insurance policy difficult to understand: “It’s all Greek to me. But Chris came highly recommended. He was very patient and helped me from the beginning as I opened the gallery and he explained clearly what I needed and why.”
The solution gave Kramer the confidence to launch quickly and created a framework that could scale as his gallery grows.
