Jason Flaxbeard has been in the risk finance space for 23 years, working in both Bermuda and the U.S.

“What I really like about Jason and his team, specifically, is that they aren’t afraid to go against the grain,” said Jennifer Blair, global risk and insurance manager, Bose Corporation. “He really understands Bose’s vision and strategy and wants to help us with useful options — not just buying coverage for the sake of it.

“Together, we look at the uninsurable risks and make sure that what is insurable is adequately covered, whether through the captive, an aggregate stop loss or through a traditional line and umbrellas.”

Recently, Flaxbeard helped client Extra Space Storage develop its own innovative insurance offerings. “That program has grown as we added on different coverages our competitors have not or will not offer,” said Kacey Kalian, senior director risk management and analysis.

“Over time, he’s helped us not only add on good features and kick off our marketing program, but he’s also helped to refine the program and add significant value. He goes out of his way to help, and he really takes it to the next level.”

Paul Berkemeier director, global risk finance, The Coca-Cola Company, likes Flaxbeard’s engagement and willingness to examine risk: “Insurance, as we know, is a little bit of a grind. Sometimes you do the same things over and over. Jason is a pleasure to work with because he likes to do things that are unique and different, and he’s not opposed to disrupting the process or the market to help drive us where we want to be.”
