Aon Broker Rose Lang-Poston Recognized as a 2021 Transportation Power Broker
Rose Lang-Poston, Senior Vice President, Aon
When the sole carrier writing “Force Account” coverage for railroads and transits announced at the end of 2019 that effective immediately it would no longer write such coverage, Rose Lang-Poston’s rail customers were left in a tight bind.
Luckily for them, Lang-Poston had been instrumental in creating such coverages in the 1980s.
In a few short months, she approached all the possible markets, explaining why it made sense for them to start writing such policies, and ultimately ended up with two — doubling the number of carriers and creating competition for the first time in that sector.
“We had all kinds of different creative scenarios and thoughts about ventilating the tower and she really went above and beyond to get us to a premium that was acceptable in context of our risk tolerance,” said Jocelyn Hill, director of public affairs and general counsel at Consolidated Rail Corporation.
“She got me a whole series of quotes at different scenarios for my tower. It was a significant amount of work, and that enabled me to go make a recommendation to my board. I felt very comfortable that we had really kicked the tires and done everything we could to come to a good landing spot. She was phenomenal. It’s stick-to-it-iveness. It’s relationships. It’s creativity, all of the above.”
As another client puts it, “On a scale of 1 to 10, she’s an 11.”
