When a client was building a new house, LaTanya Simmons, private risk advisor at Aon, was there before the first moving van delivered even a stick of furniture. Simmons knew the highly customized $30 million home would require special attention to insure properly.

Simmons selected Chubb as their high-net worth carrier and, together with a risk management appraiser, visited the home while it was still under construction.

“We toured the layout to offer safety recommendations such as a leak detection system and maintenance measures for the indoor pool, outdoor pool and spa as well as the detached sports facility that includes a golf simulator and a full-court basketball court,” Simmons said.

She also recommended upgrading insurance on a client’s fleet of vehicles that includes a $171,000 McLaren and a $144,000 Mercedes, and advised that they should have workers’ compensation insurance to cover in-home domestic workers.

“She brought some great resources to the table,” said the client. “She let me know about insurance coverages that I hadn’t known I needed.”

Having workers compensation insurance, for example, brought the client some peace of mind.
