Aon Expands Division Team and Names Its Director

Aon’s M&A and Transaction Solutions (AMATS) division announced the expansion of its team. Harriet Clarke has been named director, alongside the launch of Aon’s Real Estate Solution for M&A transactions (ARES).

Clarke joins the team from PWC where she served as head of the corporate real estate legal function. At Aon she will focus on real estate deals and advising on Aon’s transaction solutions in the market.

Her arrival has been timed to coincide with the launch of ARES, a new transaction solutions product which has been specifically designed for clients in the real estate sector.

The product will provide a combination of traditional warranty and will comprise both primary and excess cover, given the need to secure 100 percent of purchase price limits in respect to the title and capacity warranties.

Crawford & Company Promotes Tami Stevenson

Crawford & Company promoted Tami Stevenson to senior vice president, global general counsel. 

Stevenson will report to Joseph Blanco, Crawford’s president. As general counsel and corporate secretary, Stevenson succeeds Blanco who was promoted to Crawford’s president in early May. 

Stevenson is responsible for leading the legal department which includes legal, compliance and securities, and supporting the board in maintaining best practices in governance policies and procedures. 

Throughout her 23 years with Crawford, Stevenson has held multiple leadership roles. Prior to Crawford, she held several corporate counsel positions with a focus on workers’ compensation and property-casualty law and she served for six years in the United States Air Force Reserves. 

“Tami has provided strategic counsel on a broad range of legal, business and operational matters during her tenure at Crawford, and she has consistently demonstrated that she has the skills, knowledge and experience to take on the challenges and opportunities presented by this role. RT Specialty Names a New Account Manager of Their Environmental and Construction Professional Practice

Jerome (J.J.) Sawick has been named an account manager within RT Specialty’s Environmental and Construction Professional (RT ECP) Practice. 

Sawick is responsible for supporting the production efforts of RT ECP teams working in the Northeastern U.S.

“J.J. joined our company after spending the past 15 years servicing complex commercial accounts for several New York- and New Jersey-based firms,” said Jeff Slivka, president, RT ECP.

“His background will prove invaluable for meeting the daily informational needs of our resident experts, while providing our clients with the in-depth resources they have come to expect from RT ECP.”

Prior to RT ECP, Sawick served as a commercial lines account manager at The Rubin Group in New York, and Quaker Special Risk in Eatontown, NJ. He also worked as a senior licensed account and sales manager at the Anthony Fauci Agency in Staten Island, N.Y.

Allianz Announces Thomas Kang as Head of Cyber, North America

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) announced that Thomas Kang will join the company as head of cyber in North America. The appointment will be effective June 15. 

Based in New York, he will report to Paul Schiavone, regional head of financial lines and regional head of corporate long tail lines and ART, North America. 

Tom joins AGCS from Willis Towers Watson, where he served as global cyber product leader since 2018. There, he formulated cyber product strategy across both traditional and specialty lines of business, and oversaw the execution of transactional and strategic initiatives across all regions.

Prior to that, he was with The Hartford, planning and implementing a corporate strategic vision for the cyber insurance line of business.

 “Tom is a respected and recognized leader in the cyber insurance industry with a strong acumen in underwriting and a solid presence within the broker community,” said Schiavone.

“His strategic and managerial expertise will be critical as we expand our cyber presence in North America.”

JAG Insurance Group Announces Director of New Employee Benefits Division

JAG Insurance Group, a South Florida-based commercial insurance agency with Florida offices in Coral Gables and Delray Beach, and another office in Charlotte, N.C. – announced that Ozzie Gonzalez has joined the firm to lead its newly-formed division, JAG Employee Benefits.

 To provide benefit consulting for companies and individuals, this new division will focus on developing comprehensive employee benefits packages to include medical insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement plans.

 The addition of this new practice area, coupled with its diverse team led by Gonzalez, provides integrated business solutions across a multitude of sectors, including property and casualty insurance, and financial and private client services.

Gonzalez previously served as president of Worldwide Assurance. He serves on the Advisory Council for United Health Group and new business committee for Humana.

McGriff Names Hank Kinne SVP, Producer of Executive Risk Advisors

McGriff, comprised of McGriff Insurance Services Inc. and McGriff, Seibels & Williams Inc., announced that Hank Kinne has joined the firm’s Executive Risk Advisors group as a senior vice president and producer. Kinne has more than 30 years of retail insurance and broking experience, working in Atlanta, Denver, Houston and New York.

Based in Denver, he brings technical knowledge, influential industry relationships, and leadership skills to McGriff. Kinne previously led Aon’s Denver-based Financial Services Group and served on its Global Executive Committee.

He also led the Denver office for Willis and, more recently, managed large clients with complex risks for Marsh. He began his career as an underwriter with AIG in New York City with a focus on Directors and Officers (D&O) and Employment Practices Liability (EPL) coverages.

Kinne served as a business partner and advocate for Fortune 500 clients in a wide range of industries. One of his areas of expertise is the design and placement of traditional executive risk coverages, such as D&O, EPL, fiduciary liability and crime insurance. He also has structured risk transfer solutions related to anti-trust, cryptocurrency, cyber liability, intellectual property, transactional liability and securities litigation buy-outs.

Insurance Office of America Names a Commercial Lines Producer, Risk Management Specialist 

Insurance Office of America (IOA) welcomed Zachary Waters to its architects and engineering team as a commercial lines producer and risk management specialist. He joins the Pleasanton, Calif. branch.

“We’re thrilled to add someone of Zachary’s rich background to the IOA family, said IOA Regional President John Tenuto. “His industry expertise will be a great addition to our already robust design professional group.”

Prior to the recent appointment, Waters was a broker at Dealey Renton & Associates in Oakland, Calif., where he worked with design professionals. He has more than eight years of insurance and risk management experience, focusing on architects and engineers and designing risk management programs.
