AXA XL Announces New Americas Leadership Team
As part of the proposed changes to its insurance operating model, AXA XL announced its new Americas leadership team, reporting to Joe Tocco, chief executive officer for the Americas.
Donna Nadeau has been appointed to chief underwriting officer, stepping into this new role from her current position as the company’s chief operating officer in North America, a position she has held since 2014.
Since joining AXA XL in 2003, she’s held several senior-level positions, including serving as chief actuary for AXA XL’s North America property/casualty insurance operations.
Jerome Itty, who joins AXA XL from AXA Partners. where he recently served as head of Asia, assumes Nadeau’s former role as chief operating officer.
Bob Peretti has been named chief distribution officer.
Since 2015, Peretti has led AXA XL’s North America Client and Distribution Management team. In his new role, he will continue to lead client and broker distribution and also expand his responsibilities to include global management of key broker relationships.
He also assumes management of the Americas marketing function in close collaboration with the global marketing function.
Jim DiVirgilio assumes the role of chief claims officer.
Since joining AXA XL in 2008, DiVirgilio has held senior claims management positions, most recently leading AXA XL’s claims management activity across North America. He brings more than 35 years of experience handling the most complex claims across property, casualty, professional and specialty insurance lines.
“I’ve already had the pleasure of working alongside Donna, Bob and Jim for many years, and Jerome will soon find that he’s joining a team of some of the most experienced, creative and committed insurance professionals in this market,” commented Tocco.
Colonial Claims Appoints John Cerasuolo as Chief Executive Officer
Colonial Claims, an independent insurance claims service company, announced John Cerasuolo as its new chief executive officer.
Cerasuolo will serve alongside founder Doug Branham, who will continue his involvement as chairman.
As CEO, Cerasuolo will lead Colonial into its next phase of growth by providing customer experience and claims solutions through a year-round staff of professionals.
Previously, Cerasuolo served as chief executive officer of ADS Security.
“Colonial has created a special culture among its team of more than 10,000 dedicated adjusters. I am grateful and excited to lead this incredible group of professionals,” said Cerasuolo.
“I look forward to sharing my experience in opening markets and product lines, introducing and incorporating technology into operations, investing in human capital, and broadening professional capabilities,” commented Cerasuolo.

Oneglobal Names Alan Grant Non-Executive Director
Oneglobal announced the appointment of Alan Grant as a non-executive director of Oneglobal Broking Ltd, subject to FCA approval.
Grant is a senior insurance leader having had a successful career across the industry. Previously, he was chairman of Dual International Ltd.
He is currently a non-executive director at Argenta Syndicate Management Ltd and Thomas Miller Holdings Ltd.
