Actuarial Risk Management Announces Hiring of Marc Altschull

Actuarial Risk Management recently appointed Marc Altschull as senior consulting actuary.

In this newly created role, Altschull will be responsible for leading insurance asset management solutions. Additionally, he will work to build “the marketing capabilities of the firm’s actuarial services.”

Altschull brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with actuarial services to this role. He’s experienced in both life insurance consulting and risk management.

Dan Anders Named President of the National Medicare Secondary Payer Network

Dan Anders, chief compliance officer of Tower MSA Partners, was elected president of the National Medicare Secondary Payer Network (MSPN), a nonprofit association that works to address the challenges of the Medicare Secondary Payer Statute “and its impact on workers’ compensation and liability settlements.”

In his new role, Anders will work closely with the organization’s executive committee in an effort to rebrand the organization.

Tower MSA Partners has been an active participant in the organization.

Anders served on the company’s executive committee, most recently as vice president and co-chair of the policy & legislative committee.

“Under Dan’s leadership, MSPN will continue to educate and advocate and expand its influence in the MSP industry.”

Marsh Announces Appointment of Gisele “Gigi” Norris as U.S. Health Care Practice Leader

Marsh recently announced the hiring of Gisele “Gigi” Norris as the firm’s U.S. health care practice leader.

In this role, Norris will manage the implementation of “health care risk management knowledge, expertise and transactional services to clients across the U.S.”

Norris brings more than 25 years of industry experience, particularly in creating risk solutions for health care providers, to her role with Marsh. She joined from Aon, where she worked as the western region health care leader and pandemic task force co-leader for the last 20 years.

“Gigi joins the firm at a critical time for the health care industry as the pandemic has dramatically altered the risk profile of traditional health care providers,” said Jeffrey Alpaugh, U.S. and Canada growth and industry leader.

“Her proven track record of providing strategic risk consulting and advice to some of the nation’s largest and most complex health care companies, coupled with her epidemiological expertise, will further help our clients confront today’s health care challenges.”

Thomas Blanquez Joins Breckenridge Insurance Services as Vice President

Breckenridge Insurance Services named Thomas Blanquez as vice president.

Blanquez is an experienced energy broker who has worked in the industry for more than 20 years. While his expertise is on energy risks, his experience also spans several coverage lines, from transportation to construction.

He spent majority of his career at Quirk & Company, where he “led significant growth of business and carrier partner relationships during his tenure.”

At Quirk & Company, Blanquez served as senior vice president, managing the oversight of underwriting for all in-house facilities both on a domestic and international scale.

“Thomas is well respected in the insurance community and his in-depth knowledge of energy risks will substantially expand our capabilities in this segment,” said Trevor Pierce, president of Breckenridge Insurance Services.

He continued, “I am also thrilled to establish a footprint in San Antonio, TX. With the leadership skills Thomas possesses, I am confident in his ability to help Breckenridge grow our wholesale brokerage team and presence in central and south Texas.” &
