Zurich North America Announces Promotions Within U.S. Middle Market Business Unit

Zurich North America’s U.S. Middle Market business unit announced the promotions of Lisa Ammel and Soraya Pickett to regional vice president roles. Ammel will oversee the Midwest Region, while Pickett will manage the East Region. Both will report directly to John Mizzi, chief operating officer for Middle Market.

“Soraya and Lisa are veteran insurance professionals with deep underwriting knowledge and keen insight into their regions,” said Mizzi. “They will be responsible for driving underwriting strategy, strengthening distributor and customer relationships, and developing underwriting talent now and into the future for our growing book of business.”

Ammel, who joined Zurich in 2015, previously served as regional underwriting officer for the Midwest and held senior underwriting roles at The Hanover and Unitrin. Pickett, who joined Zurich in 2021, previously had a distinguished 30-year underwriting career at Chubb.
