Marsh Appoints Matt Stadler CEO of Marsh Agency

Marsh announced that Matt Stadler will become CEO of Marsh Agency, effective Jan. 1, 2027, succeeding David Eslick, who will continue as chairman. Both will report to Nick Studer, president and CEO, Marsh Risk.

“I am honored to build on the extraordinary foundation Dave has built and lead Marsh Agency into its next chapter,” Stadler said. “We will stay focused on helping middle-market clients manage risk and grow, while continuing to invest in our colleagues and capabilities.”

Stadler joined Marsh in 2015 as executive vice president following the acquisition of MHBT Inc., became CEO of the Southwest region in 2023, and was named president of Marsh Agency in 2025. Based in Dallas, he brings more than 20 years of experience advising middle-market businesses on employee benefits and property & casualty insurance.

Alongside Stadler’s appointment, John Stanchina will succeed him as president of Marsh Agency in January. Stanchina joined Marsh in 2010 as part of the acquisition of Virginia-based Thomas Rutherfoord Inc. Guy Morrison will succeed Stanchina as CEO of the Mid-Atlantic region. &
