Risk Placement Services Broker Lisa Duncan Recognized as a 2021 M&A Power Broker
Lisa Duncan, Executive Vice President, Property, Risk Placement Services
The pandemic’s unexpected arrival impacted an array of companies’ insurance policies, leaving insurance executives up to their eyeballs in client questions and concerns.
Lisa Duncan stepped up to explain how Hop Energy’s policies addressed business interruption claims, especially since the company had made acquisitions in different states, each with different requirements.
Formerly with Aon, Duncan recently joined Risk Placement Services.
“She basically tore down what was specific to each state regarding business interruption claims and what we had to file,” said Brian Chartier, Hop Energy’s treasurer.
And despite 2020’s pandemic and record hurricanes and wildfires threatening to push up premiums, Hop Energy was pleased with the outcome Duncan and Aon provided.
“We do a lot of M&A—big platforms and mom and pop operations—and Lisa will jump in with the other Aon folks to ensure we have the proper coverage and understand what the cost is for the additional premium we’re about to absorb,” Chartier said.
He noted the back-and-forth in his company’s budgeting process to come up with the right insurance coverage versus the cost, “We share that with Aon and they come up with creative solutions that beat expectations.”
The executive director of a major insurance company’s real estate management team pointed to Duncan’s prompt communications and ability to provide timely analysis, even for complex policies.
