When a Florida shopping center sale was on the verge of collapsing, Jamie Levenshon stepped in — not as the broker of record but as a trusted expert. The buyer was close to walking away after receiving an insurance quote far higher than expected. Rather than watching the transaction fall apart, Levenshonwent to work.
“She didn’t get the business because this company had used a Chicago firm, but she helped inform them and give them intel that they weren’t aware of in Florida that helped lower the insurance to a level they were comfortable with going ahead and closing the deal,” said Beth Azor, CEO of Azor Properties, which invests in shopping centers. “The buyer said ‘wow’ — Jamie really helped, and now we are ready to close. We were able to adjust the estimated level of pricing to a better level.”
Coming to Azor’s aid shows that Levenshon isn’t only about the almighty dollar, Azor said. Levenshon has built a highly specialized book of business centered on shopping centers — approximately 50 million square feet of commercial real estate across 10 states. By understanding carrier appetites and clearly communicating the realities of markets, she aligns clients and carriers in ways that support successful outcomes.
Azor praises Levenshon’s industry knowledge and persistence. “She will go to the carriers when pricing seems out of whack. She will go to the source and keep digging and explaining and helping her clients. She’s very determined, and she cares.”
