Gallagher Broker Jonathan Henley Recognized as a 2026 Captives Power Broker
Jonathan Henley, Senior Vice President, Gallagher
For one group captive member that was in acquisition mode, broker Jonathan Henley conducted due diligence on the insurance premiums of the acquisition target.
By comparing that premium rate to the rates the acquired company would pay as part of a captive, Henley was able to save his client more than $2 million in acquisition costs.
Another group captive member was faced with the prospect of getting kicked out of the captive due to the occurrence of an unexpected number of accidents in its auto program. Had the company been forced to go to the surplus markets for coverage, its premium rates would have tripled.
Henley negotiated specific reinsurance for this member, which not only kept them in the captive, but saved them an estimated $750,000 in premiums over a five-year period.
“Responsiveness is the fundamental bedrock on which client service is based,” Henley wrote in his Power Broker application.
“Nothing is appreciated more by clients than being able to get ahold of their broker at any time when they are needed or quickly getting answers to their questions through an email response.”
Taking into account the fact that Henley has been involved in the management of more than 300 captives over a 20-year period, he still takes the time to further his education by attending captive board meetings, loss control workshops and client claim reviews.
