Monica Attanasi doesn’t see herself as a broker; she sees herself as an extension of her clients’ team. She aims to be an advocate and ally when entering the market so that the people and businesses she serves have the very best, always.
For one client, Stephen Benigno, program manager, insurance and loss control, SEPTA, Attanasi put her brokering philosophy of service and advocacy to the test.
This last year, SEPTA faced two larger property claims, both dealing with rail cars and its infrastructure. In the first instance, there was a flood at one of its locations.
“It didn’t look like the insurance carrier was going to step in,” Benigno explained. So, Attanasi did. She itemized the damages, made sure all necessary emails were replied to, and even conducted a boots-on-the-ground site inspection with Benigno and the adjusters to make sure nothing was missed.
“She is well-known in the industry, and because of her due diligence, the carrier paid the claim,” he shared.
In another instance, a rail car burned, rendering it and its adjacent car inoperable. Attanasi worked to get both paid for and replaced, despite the fire only impacting one.
“Before even meeting with anyone, she read and understood our policy and the declarations in it. During our meeting, she was able to reference the policy directly for coverages, and stayed with me until the claim was closed,” he said.
