CAC Specialty Broker Jordan Tamchin Recognized as a 2022 Specialty Power Broker
Jordan Tamchin, Senior Vice President, CAC Specialty
Jordan Tamchin began his career at the M&A tax group at PwC in New York, where, as a tax attorney, he advised private equity funds and multinationals on due diligence and structuring.
In 2016, Tamchin entered the insurance industry as a managing general underwriter for transactional risk insurance at Concord Specialty Risk. In 2019, he joined CAC to lead the tax insurance practice, specializing in delivering innovative insurance solutions for complex tax risks.
According to Gregg Cassarini, senior director of AMP Solar, Tamchin is very entrepreneurial and is able to quickly and efficiently identify insurers, provide a qualitative and quantitative analysis and make recommendations.
“He has always been available to walk us through the proposals and discuss pros and cons and help us make an educated decision,” Cassarini said. “Jordan has an incredible knowledge of the industry and had helped educate us on related topics.”
This year, Tamchin helped secure a second tax insurance policy for EDP Renewables North America.
“Due to recent tax rulings, the insurers were much more risk adverse to the underlying issues and thus became hesitant in their approach, approval and contract language,” said Patrick Maloy, head of tax at EDP Renewables North America. “Jordan helped us over a continuous nine-month period to execute the policy.”
Tamchin continues to play an instrumental role in its dynamic growth and acceptance among insurance carriers, corporations and private equity funds.
