“My company embarked on a multi-billion dollar project well outside of our core business in a challenging jurisdiction,” said one client of Stephen Juan’s while he was at Aon. Juan moved to Howden Group in December 2025.
“We selected Stephen to spearhead the brokerage services which encompass several coverage placements, loss control, claims, and on-site medical for the construction project. My small team relied on Stephen for almost all aspects of the connected pieces that moved the project forward in 2025.”
With an extremely tight capital budget, the client said Juan and his team have been successful in maximizing the project coverage limits, achieving partnerships with service providers that greatly reduced costs, and constantly tracking subcontractors’ compliance with its OCIP to reduce costs at every possible opportunity.
Another OCIP Juan manages has projects in six states.
“Many of our jobs are not bid with insurance,” they said, “so I’m not able to calculate savings for a given project. Stephen was able to obtain state averages for projects and use those averages to come to the dollars saved. I can use this data to promote our OCIP to our construction teams and executive leadership. By doing so, I’ve garnered more support.”
For a third client, “our construction project was supposed to be completed earlier this year and for various reasons our organization found itself in a place where the OCIP needed to be extended with only about two weeks until expiration. Stephen and his team jumped in and made the extension happen.”
