Director – Alternative Risk Transfer
Aon, New York
The casualty insurance market can be quite volatile, so when Matthew Ginsburg’s client was facing a 10-15% premium increase despite a strong historical loss record, Ginsburg implemented a multi-year structured insurance program. Specifically, this program locked in risk transfer costs over a three-year term. Partnering with actuaries to analyze projected and historical loss patterns, while taking in his client’s preferences for program length, cost profile, and savings, Ginsburg developed a program enabling the client to gain cost certainty for insurance over multiple years. It is projected that the client can gain up to $10 million in return premium.
One client, who Ginsburg assisted with its bespoke contingent casualty gap product, said Ginsburg’s knowledge of the business and industry is “as close to perfect as one can get. Matt is extremely responsive to his clients. His thinking is out of the box, which is what we needed for our bespoke product, and his understanding of what was needed, while very complex, was picked up by Matt immediately.”
Ginsburg recognizes every client’s needs and circumstances are unique, resulting in extremely personalized service. His ultimate goal is to make the decision-making process straightforward to his clients to empower them in developing and implementing their risk management strategies. Ginsburg also interacts directly with insurers so he can stay up to speed on market trends, underwriting practices, and new product developments.
