Aon Broker Erin Brodbeck Recognized as a 2021 Power Broker
Erin Brodbeck, Senior Broker, Aon
After a spate of ransomware attacks in health care last year, the risk manager at an academic medical center in California was peppered with questions from senior leaders, including the chief executive officer. The risk manager said she relied on Erin Brodbeck to make sure she had the answers.
“While I can certainly give them my thoughts on what we can do, I really want to know for sure how to present and be confident in my responses, and that’s what she provides me with,” the risk manager said.
In addition to serving as a resource in times of potential crisis, Brodbeck was instrumental in reconfiguring the center’s overall cyber coverage, the risk manager said. As a result of recent growth, the center wanted higher limits and some additional coverages. Because Brodbeck started the process early with carriers, the center was able to get what it wanted without significant increases to its premiums.
Brodbeck also has been a valuable resource for U.S. Oncology Network, a physician practice management company operated by Texas-based McKesson Corp. Brodbeck has helped individual practices obtain and understand cyber coverage, Sarika Maheshwari, a McKesson risk manager, said.
“They’re not insurance experts. They would rather focus on patient care,” Maheshwari said. “So, having somebody who they can easily call if they have a specific or nuanced question is huge to them … It’s great to have a partnership with someone like Erin.”
