Aon Broker Christy Corbett Recognized as a 2022 Hospitality Power Broker
Christy Corbett, Broker, Aon
A Bermuda native, Christy Corbett always thought she would someday “get off the rock” and experience the wider world.
As it turns out, the world — from Fortune 1000 companies to New Zealand government councils — has come to Bermuda, and she has found the perfect niche. Corbett relishes the complexity of property programs, which continually challenge her even as her book of business has doubled in size over the past three years.
“Christy did a great job helping us with our property renewal,” said Kyle Godfrey, senior risk analyst for Steel Dynamics.
“We knew that a few markets were not going to write our type of business any longer. We had to find new capacity in order to fill out our program. Christy was able to get a few new markets [at great pricing] to fill areas that we self-insured a year prior.”
Corbett’s deep industry knowledge makes her a valued resource, according to Jim Cunningham, VP, risk management and safety, Bally’s Corporation: “We have unique risks. When you have a partner like Christy who comes in and takes the time to understand the pressures we face, and finds the right solutions, she becomes vital to the success of our risk management programs.”
The latest example is Bally’s embrace of digital gaming and online sports betting. Corbett has helped Cunningham understand how these offerings will change the company’s risk profile and positioning with the markets.
