Aon Broker Christine Palomba Recognized as a 2021 Utilities Power Broker
Christine Palomba, U.S. Power Casualty Leader, Aon
For one client, the key to Christine Palomba’s success is that she benchmarks program data against that of the competitors.
“Given the state of the current insurance market, Christine was key in achieving a renewal result under our casualty and excess casualty liability insurance program that yielded an increase well below industry standards and benchmarked metrics,” said one director of risk management.
“That was achieved by taking the time to understand fully our risk to the point where she could accurately present and differentiate our risk to incumbent and prospective insurers,” they continued.
Part of fully understanding this risk meant knowing what insurance programs industry peers are looking toward.
“We benchmark and liaison with industry peers and colleagues whereby we compare our insurance program and renewal against similar types of risk exposures. I fully believe that without Christine as our insurance representative, we would be unable to properly transfer risk as dictated by our organization.”
Another client credited Palomba with helping to resolve a thorny challenge: Insurance costs are rising overall, but not in proportion. The client’s lead umbrella layer cost about half of its total excess tower premium for less than 10% of its overall limit. Restructuring took seven months, but was successful.
