Alliant Insurance Services Broker Emily Quinlan Recognized as a 2021 M&A Power Broker
Emily Quinlan, Vice President, Alliant Insurance Services
For private equity firms and corporates regularly pursuing acquisitions, Emily Quinlan provides what they need: breadth of knowledge, carrier connections, and availability.
Roxanna Sassanian, CFO of Operam Inc., first met Quinlan when she worked at a private-equity firm and, unsatisfied with the current rep from another large brokerage, tapped her after interviewing five candidates.
That paid off in a subsequent large acquisition with 8,000 employees.
“She worked 24/7 to get us through the finish line,” Sassanian said. Her diligence and constant communication “were just phenomenal,” she added, and that continued after Sassanian moved to the smaller Operam.
“Even for questions I have that have nothing to do with business insurance she’s always accessible, and if she can’t advise on the issue, she’ll connect me someone who can.”
Aaron Habriga, principal at Varsity Healthcare Partners, said Quinlan has worked with him on at least nine transactions and has performed due diligence on several more of the firm’s deals.
She plays a key role in evaluating an acquisition target’s existing policies and whether there is insufficient or excessive coverage, and Alliant’s scale and established network help her negotiate effectively with the carriers.
“Emily has become a really trusted resource to our firm,” Habriga said. “[It’s] Almost like having an in-house broker,” he said.
