Newfront Insurance Adds Adam Gabler as a Strategic Advisor

Newfront Insurance, a tech-enabled, full-service brokerage based in San Francisco with offices throughout California, has hired Adam Gabler as a strategic advisor.

Gabler will be responsible for helping to lead Newfront’s endeavors in construction risk. The brokerage recently rolled out a proprietary coverage package under the direction of longtime construction leader and program builder, Michael Daoussis.

Gabler has focused on construction throughout his entire career in the insurance industry. He spent the previous 13 years at a boutique construction firm in Southern California.

“Adam is incredibly sophisticated in his practice and is one of the best that we’ve met in the area of analytical portion of policy review,” said Raphael Parker, head of strategic growth.

“His ability to understand the intricate complexities that arise in development contracts make him invaluable to his customers, and a tremendous addition to the Newfront team.”

Forbes Technology Council Adds VP of IT, Tower MSA Partners

Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community of technology executives has brought on Jesse Shade, vice president of information technology for Tower MSA Partners.

Tower is a technology-driven provider of Medicare Secondary Payer compliance services, including Medicare Set-Asides.

Criteria for acceptance in the Council includes personal achievements and honors as well as proof of business growth. Shade has 35 years of IT experience and directs all aspects of Tower technologies.

He oversees data security, systems architecture, disaster recovery, and business continuity, as well as the management, maintenance, and upgrades of its proprietary software.

“We are honored to welcome Jesse into the community,” said Forbes Council Founder Scott Gerber.

“We are proud of this recognition of Jesse’s talents,” said Tower CEO Rita Wilson.

Aon’s Jose Peralta Named New Public Sector Leader

After eight years leading Aon’s public sector national practice group, Jose Peralta has been named the firm’s new public sector leader. He will be responsible for developing, planning and executing sales strategies and thought leadership for public sector clients.

In addition to this role, Peralta will continue to be a member of the Aon Weather & Climate Risk Innovation Group.

In this group, he specializes in complex placements that connect clients with insurance, reinsurance and capital market solutions that empower governments to more sustainably serve their constituents.

He has more than 15 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Aon at the public sector practice’s inception, he was an underwriter at Affiliated FM.

Trident Marine Managers Announces Clarke Smith as Director of Underwriting

Trident Marine Managers (TMM), a managing general underwriter for the specialty marine and offshore energy industries and a part of Ryan Specialty Group (RSG), is announced the appointment of Clarke Smith as director of underwriting. They simultaneously announced the opening of the Boston, Massachusetts office.

Smith comes to TMM with more than 30 years of insurance industry experience. He has a wide-ranging background working in several management and underwriting positions with a carrier, MGU, and broker.

Martin Hayes and Mike Johnson, Trident Marine’s managing directors, said, “We are thrilled to open our fourth office, now in Boston and delighted that Clarke has joined our team.

His market expertise and experience will be vital to our success as we continue to strengthen our presence in the US marketplace.”

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE Realigns Key Roles in its Board of Management

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE, industrial insurer of the Allianz Group, announced a realignment of its Board of Management, focusing on responsibilities for regions and markets as well as for underwriting and claims functions.

With effect from July 1, 2020, the number of Chief Regions & Markets Officers (CRMO) on the AGCS SE Board of Management will be reduced from three to two.

Henning Haagen, formerly chief underwriting officer, Specialty, will assume responsibility for all AGCS regional units outside North America (Regional Group 1) in the AGCS SE Board of Management.

The two current AGCS CRMOs, Sinéad Browne and Hartmut Mai will resign from the AGCS SE Board of Management with effect from June 30, 2020 and pursue opportunities outside AGCS. Their responsibilities will be merged into one single Regional Group 1 under the lead of Haagen.

William Scaldaferri will continue to head the North America Regional Group 2.

Dr. Renate Strasser, current chief executive officer of New Reinsurance Company, a subsidiary of Munich Re, will join the AGCS SE Board of Management as chief underwriting officer, Specialty. She will be replacing Haagen in this role.

Dr. Thomas Sepp, current chief underwriting officer, Corporate, will take over a re-established Board role as chief claims officer.

Tony Buckle, previously chief underwriting officer, International P&C at AXA XL, joins the AGCS SE Board of Management and success Sepp as chief underwriting officer, Corporate, effective July 1, 2020.

Liberty Mutual Re (LM Re), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Scott Mackie to the role of director of Assumed Reinsurance – Property.

Based in Stamford, Connecticut, Mackie will report to Richard Mairano, senior vice president, Property Treaty. He joins with immediate effect and will be responsible for underwriting US property risk and pro-rata business and marketing to brokers throughout the United States.

“As Liberty Mutual Re continues its growth strategy, we continue to add to our talent pool. In Scott, we’ve found an extremely capable reinsurance professional with strong market connections and a great track record,” said Mairano.

Mackie has 18 years of reinsurance industry experience. He was most recently senior property underwriter for Treaty with AXA XL. &
