RT Specialty Promotes an Account Manager

Alex Ilgner, account manager, RT ECP

Alex Ilgner has been promoted to account manager in RT Specialty’s Environmental and Construction Professional Practice (RT ECP).

Prior to this role, Ilgner spent time assisting with new business, marketing and account management efforts of the organization’s senior leadership.

“Alex’s tireless work ethic and constant thirst for knowledge has greatly supported our ability to provide our clients and their customers with competitive risk management solutions,” said Joseph Reynolds, senior vice president, RT ECP.

CAC Specialty Strengthens Tax Team and Business Development Team

CAC Specialty has welcomed Ben Gerber to its CAC Tax Insurance Practice as vice president. Additionally, Duncan Cummings has ascended to the role of SVP of business development.

Gerber enters this role with a wealth of experience in the tax space. Most recently, he served as VP of transaction solutions with a national insurance broker. He specializes in developing solutions for tax risks arising from M&A transactions and corporate tax planning.

“Ben’s tax technical expertise and professionalism will add significant value to our team,” said Jordan Tamchin, head of CAC Specialty’s Tax Insurance practice.

“Ben will be a key part of delivering tailored tax insurance solutions to our clients.”

Cummings assumes his role with a strong background and entrepreneurial spirit honed by focusing on emerging markets. He joins the team with the goal to support private equity, M&A and emerging industries within CAC.

“Duncan’s cumulative professional and personal history brings a dynamic addition to the CAC Specialty team,” said David Payne, chief revenue officer with CAC.

“His analytical skills and his solution-based approach will be a tremendous asset to CAC and its clients.”

SiriusPoint Appoints Active Underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate

Bobby Heerasing, active underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 1945, SiriusPoint

Global insurer and reinsurer SiriusPoint has appointed Bobby Heerasing as its new active underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 1945.

Heerasing also serves as head of international strategic business development, where he heads the job of SiriusPoint UK country brand manager.

“I am very pleased to take on the role of active underwriter of Syndicate 1945,” said Heerasing.

“The Lloyd’s market is an invigorating environment — it offers unique opportunities and capabilities that reward and drive entrepreneurial and innovative risk solutions. Michele Lamarre Joins Board of NAAIA

Brandi Monique, vice president, employment practices liability, Technical Claims Department, AIG

Michele Lamarre, vice president, head of diversity, inclusion & belonging, QBE North America

The National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) announced the appointment of Michele Lamarre to its board of directors, effective September 20.

Lamarre currently serves as the vice president and head of diversity, inclusion & belonging at QBE North America.

Prior to joining QBE, Lamarre led marketing and communications teams at AIG, and
held chief of staff and strategic planning roles with Moody’s, UBS Financial Services
and JPMorgan Chase.

Lamarre earned an MBA from the University of Miami Herbert School of Business and her B.A. from Hofstra University. Lamarre’s appointment fills an open board term that expires in 2024.

“We’re excited to welcome Michele to the board,” said NAAIA board chair Janet
Jordan-Foster. “Her expertise in marketing and communications will provide insight into
how NAAIA continues to deepen and grow our brand in the insurance industry and
among new and experienced talent.”

Additionally, NAAIA reappointed Brandi N. Monique to a three-year term as the organization’s national emerging leader, a board seat dedicated to ensuring millennial representation in leadership.

Monique serves as vice president, employment practices liability, Technical Claims Department, AIG.

Assistant Director of Captive Insurance Named for Vermont

Jim Devoe-Talluto, assistant director of financial regulation, Vermont

Vermont’s Department of Financial Regulation has promoted Jim Devoe-Talluto to the role of assistant director of financial regulation. He most recently served as examiner-in-charge.

“Jim is an extremely respected member of our regulatory team and is a pleasure to work with. He has built many valued relationships within the Vermont captive insurance industry over the years with his inquisitive and helpful nature, and we expect he will broaden these relationships in his new role,” said Christine Brown, director of captive insurance.

“Jim has deep knowledge and perspective to bring to the licensing team and we are thrilled to welcome him.”

“We’re fortunate to have a deep bench of highly qualified captive regulators in Vermont, and Jim is a prime example. Jim has been a valuable member of the exam team for nearly 20 years where he has honed his skills as an examiner, an analyst, a supervisor, and a teacher,” said Dan Petterson, director of examinations.

“He’ll be missed on the exam team, but his vast experience will serve the Vermont captive community well as the new assistant director.”

Goldberg Segalla Welcomes Livinus C. Isioma

Goldberg Segalla added Livinus C. Isioma to the firm’s transportation group in St. Louis.

In this role, Isioma will focus on counseling and defending claims in a variety of civil litigation claims, with a focus on the transportation industry.

Prior to joining Goldberg Segalla, Isioma gained experience conducting research and drafting memorandums on ongoing energy and utility litigation at the Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel. &
