GreenKite Associates Announces Hiring of Professionals to Advisory Board

GreenKite Associates recently announced the appointment of four new members to the company’s advisory board. The newly appointed board members are Paula Doolan, Tim Johnson, Maxine Goddard and Kasha Mleko.

The four new board members bring a combined 100 years’ experience in both the insurance and reinsurance industries.

Doolan has worked in the industry for over 45 years, working in underwriting, claims management and legal and business development.

Johnson brings 30 years of industry experience to his new role with GreenKite. Specifically, he has worked in sales, management and business growth and acquisitions.

Goddard, who brings over 20 years of experience to GreenKite, most recently served as head of sales operations and planning for Zurich Insurance.

Mleko has worked in the industry for 10 years, specifically gaining experience working in insurance asset management in the London market. Prior to joining GreenKite, she worked in marketing and new business development with New England Asset Management.

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Announces Promotions of Olav Spiegel and Adam Romano

Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty recently announced the appointment of Olav Spiegel as chief information officer of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE. Additionally, Adam Romano has been named head of the Canada Liability team.

In this role, Spiegel is responsible for leading the “new IT organizations as it transforms itself into an agile IT product delivery organization.” He recently worked with Allianz SE, where he implemented modern IT equipment to help develop a modern workplace for employees.

AGCS COO Bettina Dietsche commented, “Digitalization is an integral part for our new AGCS strategy, and with our IT Transformation, we support the transformation of the wider business into a next-generation insurer.”

“I am delighted that, with Olav, we have found a new CIO who is familiar with AGCS and the wider IT ecosystem in the Allianz Group, in Europe and North America.”

In his new role, Romano will manage the Canadian liability strategy, which will include “portfolio management, new product introductions and providing overall support for client service culture.” Romano first joined AGCS in 2016 where he served as an executive underwriter on the corporate casualty team.

“Adam is well known and respected by our major producers and clients, and I am delighted that he is heading the Canadian Liability team,” said Dieter Hautzer, head of liability, North America.

AssetSure Hires Practice Leader of Personal Insurance

AssetSure named Ted Karlunas as the agency’s vice president, personal insurance practice leader.

In his new role, Karlunas will be responsible for heading personal insurance operations while AssetSure expands its services. Additionally, Karlunas will assist in marketing strategy and innovation development through technology.

Karlunas joins AssetSure after working as an international agency’s Mid-Atlantic operations leader.

“Ted’s strong leadership experience and history of business development expertise make him an important addition to our team,” said Tara Harvey Bramwell, managing member of AssetSure.

“We’re thrilled to add someone with Ted’s skills and industry knowledge as we continue our growth and expand our business to new areas and territories.”

Sedgwick Names Michelle Hay Global Chief People Officer

Sedgwick recently announced the hiring of Michelle Hay as the company’s global chief people officer. In this role, Hay will be responsible for oversight of the company’s global human resources team.

Hay brings over 25 years of experience to her role. She most recently worked for a leading international commercial real estate firm as a global chief human resource officer.

“We are thrilled to have a strategic thinker and relationship builder like Michelle joining our executive leadership team,” said Mike Arbour, Sedgwick’s chief executive officer.
